What this site is and is not

This site gives general information about insurance and about our agency. It is written to help you ask better questions. It is not advice about your own situation, and it is not legal, tax or financial advice.

Reading this site, or sending us a message through it, does not make you a client and does not give you coverage.

Insurance rules and what companies offer change often. Each blog post was written on the date shown on it, so call us to check what's true today.

Quotes and coverage information

A quote is not a policy. A quote is an estimate based on what we know at the time. The insurance company can change it after it reviews your application.

Coverage starts when the insurance company says it does. You are not covered until the insurance company has accepted your application and the policy has been issued.

You can't start, change or cancel coverage through this site. That includes the contact form, an email, a text or a voicemail. Coverage isn't started, changed or canceled until you've talked with us and we've confirmed it.

The policy decides what's covered. This site describes coverage in everyday words. Your policy has the exact wording, and the policy is what counts.

Approval and price are decided by the insurance companies. What's available depends on the company, the property and the person being insured, and we can't promise either one.

If you have a claim, don't use the contact form. Call the office at (925) 940-6970, or call the insurance company's claims number on your policy.

Text messages

If you tick the box on our form that lets us text you, Darlene Baxter Insurance Agency may text you about your quote, your policy or your question. Message and data rates may apply, and how often we text varies.

Reply STOP to stop the texts, or HELP for help. You can also call the office. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your phone number.
