What the Darlene Baxter Insurance Agency website collects when you send us a message, who receives it, how we use it, and how to ask us to delete it.
What this site collects
This is the website of Darlene Baxter Insurance Agency. This page says, in plain words, what the site collects and what happens to it.
What you give us. The form on our contact page asks for your first name, your email address, and how you'd like us to answer: a call, a text or an email. You can add your last name, your phone number and a message. If you ask for a call or a text, the form needs a phone number.
If you tick the box that lets us text you, we keep a record that you agreed and when.
How you found us. If you came from an ad, a post or an email with a campaign label on the link, the form notes which one, along with the name of the website you came from. That describes the ad or the post, not you.
What every website records. The computers that host this site keep basic technical logs, such as your internet address, your browser, the page you asked for and the time. The site also uses your internet address for a short time to block spam sent through the form.
What's kept in your browser. The site saves a couple of small notes in your own browser: whether you chose the light or dark look, and the campaign label for your visit. They stay on your device.
What we don't use. This site has no advertising or tracking tags on it. It does not follow you to other websites.
Please don't put sensitive details in the form. That means no Social Security number, driver's license number, bank or card numbers, or health details. If a quote needs something like that, we'll ask you for it directly.
Who receives it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their advertising.
A few companies handle it for us so the site can work. They are allowed to use it only to do that job.
- Our office email. When you send the form, your message is emailed to our office. A mail service called Resend delivers it, and our office mailbox is run by Google.
- Our website host. The site runs on Vercel, which keeps the technical logs described above.
Insurance companies. If you ask us for a quote, we share what's needed with the insurance companies we ask for quotes. That happens when we work on your quote. It does not happen automatically from this site.
We may also share information when the law requires it.
How it is used
We use what you send us to answer your message, to prepare quotes you ask for, and to take care of your policy if you become a client.
Filling out the form does not put you on a marketing email list. If we start a newsletter, we'll send it to you only if you ask for it, and every issue will have a way to stop it.
We keep the messages you send through this site, and we don't delete them on a schedule. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
This site is for adults. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Calls and text messages
We only text you if you ticked the box on the form that says we can, or you told us it's OK. Saying yes to texts is not required to get a quote or to buy a policy.
If you ask for a phone call and don't tick the texting box, we call. We don't text.
Message and data rates may apply. How often we text depends on what we're working on with you. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or reply HELP for help. You can also call the office at (925) 940-6970.
We do not share your mobile number or your permission to be texted with anyone for their marketing.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call the office or email us and we'll take care of it.
If you're a client, we may have to keep some records to take care of your policy and to follow insurance rules.
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. This site doesn't track you across other websites, so it behaves the same way whether or not that signal is on.
Changes to this page. If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
